Contribute to the development within the Electrical field


As R&D Engineer at Technology Consulting you will play a key role in the innovation and development of HV insulation technology. You will contribute significantly to successful project results in technology and/or product development by identifying, proposing and implementing innovative solutions. You will contribute to creative ideas in R&D projects, as well as propose follow-up projects and activities based on new ideas.


Parts of the role will be to provide consulting services to internal and external customers on technical challenges within your own area of expertise and also identify and mitigate risks in R&D projects and consulting projects. You will use your knowledge within electrical, physical, thermodynamic and modelling to define and predict material and components behaviour under specific external electrical and thermal stresses.


It is a role with varying tasks where you will need a problem-solving and consultative approach. You will be working with, among other things,
• Modelling and Simulation of dielectric, electrical field distribution, thermodynamic and mass transport phenomena in materials. Your contribution will be key to allow future design of High Voltage and Medium Voltage products.
• Increase comprehension of electrical phenomena in insulation systems, both theoretically and experimentally.
• Validate experimentally electro-thermal models through suggestion of key experiments to be performed together with team members.
• Be the technical leader in projects aiming to reach high satisfaction for both internal or external customers.


Problem solver with a proactive mind
We are looking for our next expert! To be that one you have a technical MSc or PhD in either High Voltage Physics, High Voltage Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Thermo & Fluid dynamics or Physical chemistry. Besides this you have at least two years’ experience as an R&D scientist or similar with a broad knowledge of HV insultation system.


To thrive in this role you are goal-oriented with a high sense of responsibility delivering your work with great accuracy. You are motivated in an innovative environment and keen on reaching our common strategic and operational goals.
You have a strong team spirit, individual and structured leadership to deliver expected results on time, on budget and with high quality. We are also looking for someone with an service-oriented and consultative approach with effective communication with internal as well as external customers from different background.


Furthermore, you have:
- Excellent skills and extensive experiences with commercial numerical software, i.e. ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics and MATLAB.
- Experience from electrical characterization or testing.
- Previous experience from HVDC is beneficial.
- Previous experience in Power electronic is beneficial.
You enjoy working independently as much as in multi-disciplinary team. Beyond the formal requirements, you will approach problem in an analytical manner – systematically identifying our customers’ needs – and creatively finding potential solutions.
