ABB Machines develops and produces large synchronous electrical machines in the range of 3-80 MW. The machines are delivered worldwide for installation in industrial environments. In some cases, this involves installation in potential explosive atmospheres.
Reporting to the Manager of Product Line Maintenance, you will contribute creative ideas to R&D projects, as well as propose follow-up projects and activities based on new ideas.


Your responsibilities
Technical responsibility for product Ex designs for use in explosive atmospheres
Working to improve preparation degree for Ex solutions in the base design
Performing new and upgrades of existing type certifications
Working close to Product Manager and market to find and propose development activities to increase global footprint of Ex certified machines
Participating in working teams, disseminating technical/scientific knowledge in projects, and assisting colleagues in applying processes and tools
Educating colleagues within company, both in office and production, about Ex regulations
Participating in networks to expand knowledge of the targeted area of expertise



Your background
You hold a university degree within relevant field
Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design
Knowledge of work towards standards and regulations for heavy industries
Knowledge of any of the commercial 3D CAD software
A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
You want to work with Product Safety
Fluency in both English and Swedish
