About the job
In this role, you will secure a well-functioning diamond coating process, including pretreatment. You have close contact with the rest of the solid milling team and collaborate with the coating department, the product development engineers, product line, application engineers, production technology, and your other internal stakeholders. You’re using SEM, FTIR, XRF, and LOM regularly, doing measurements and interpretation of results.
This position is in Reynoldsville (USA), and your team is spread out globally, so the job includes some planned travel.
About you
You hold a master's or PhD degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or adjacent combined with cemented carbide or coating knowledge, preferentially hard coatings. You have held previous R&D positions and have a background in wet chemistry, preferably tungsten chemistry. You have a good understanding of the CVD technology and are familiar with characterization techniques such as SEM, FTIR, XRF, and LOM, while knowledge of PVD and Raman are beneficial. Knowledge of aerospace, CFRP, CFRP machining is advantageous. As we work across borders and cultures, you need to be inclusive and communicate fluently in English.
