Reporting to R&D Team Manager, you will become part of ABB Motor Starting & Safety in Västerås.
The unit is part of the Electrification/Smart Power division and has as its business concept to develop, manufacture, market and sell the low voltage products for which we have world responsibility within ABB. These include large contactors & soft starters. We have the market's widest range of energy efficient low voltage appliances and installation products and turn to customers in all industries such as OEM, industry, distribution, wholesalers and consultants worldwide. Do you want to be part of the development projects of the future? R&D department, we are currently about 40 employees who develop new energy-smart products. We have global development responsibility for our products and collaborate with other units around the world.
Your responsibilities
Together with other designers in the department, you will work with product development.
You may work with improvements, lead smaller design projects or be a R&D Engineer in larger projects.
You will work closely with development engineers, product managers, production and the department of quality technology.
You will have international contacts as you work with our production units in China, India and our other local business units in Germany and France.
You will have great opportunities to grow professionally, both in position and within our global company.

Your background
Technical Engineering or equivalent.
You have at least a couple of years' experiences of mechanical construction where we see experience of plastic construction and project management as an advantage.
Work in the CAD software Creo and use Windchill as PLM.
Knowledge of FMEA, DFA and DOE in the development work.
Thermal analysis, Moldflow, CETOL 6σ and FEM is an advantage if you master.
You have the ability to prioritize, structure and drive your work yourself.
You are a relationship-building and responsive team player who is good at communicating in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English.
