R&D Engineer - Embedded Firmware

Sandvik Coromant's Digital Machining R&D department is currently in an exciting expansion phase and we are now looking for a R&D Engineer for Embedded Firmware. Enhancing our team of ten co-workers we welcome you to an important development area in a cross-functional environment!

Key performance areas
As R&D Engineer you are responsible for research and development in embedded firmware for electronics and signal processing/analys. You develop and verify knowledge, technology platforms, algorithms and software products for signal conditioning for sensors, sensor fusion and electronics. Multi source data analys and visualization, ARM architecture, e.g., Cortex-M3, developing interface to I2C, SPI or similar, developing drivers and kernel for embedded systems and containers are other parts of your work. Within digital machining you also investigate and participate in customer needs surveys and formalize product characteristics and requirements specification in order to identify and develop the required knowledge and technology platforms. Moreover, you identify the need for external research and participate in external research projects and supervise Master's thesis projects and trainees in your field.

This position involves some traveling.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with an MSc or a PhD in electronic firmware. You have at least three years experience within data management technology, signal analysis and signal conditioning for embedded systems. Experience with and knowledge of C, C ++, django, Python and C # and assembler are important, while knowledge of wireless communication protocols, real time OS, e.g., TIRTOS, container technologies like Docker, and Linux real time patches are advantageous. As we act in a global environment, your English and Swedish skills must be excellent, both verbally and in writing.
