R&D Engineer for Powder Technology (Temporary Position)

To Sandvik Coromant and our R&D Materials & Processes in Västberga, Stockholm, we’re currently looking for an R&D Engineer to a temporary position for approximately two years. We welcome you to our Powder Technology & Compaction department, consisting of 16 brilliant and helpful R&D engineers and technicians. With us, you’ll get the opportunity to take an important part in building and developing a new powder lab in a vital and fundamental area.


Shortly about the job
In this position, you’re placed in the powder laboratory that primarily works with development and evaluation of new and recycled raw materials and powder production in pilot scale for cemented carbide products. You’re involved in exploratory work on powder processing. Being responsible for the development of new methods in our pilot plan you’re also responsible for driving projects within the area, from planning to execution and with the aim to increase knowledge and understanding; what is it that actually controls the quality and performance in our products?

Who you are
We’re looking for someone with a Master's degree in Engineering with focus on Powder Technology, Material Chemistry or other materials science area. Professional experience from a relevant technical field and research environment is necessary, as is knowledge of cemented carbide. A relevant PhD can be advantageous. Working in a truly global environment calls for excellent skills in English, verbally and in writing.


You’re familiar with hands-on lab work and your structured way of working really comes in handy in this role. You have a high technical competence that you happily share with others and have a well-established network within the field of powder technology. With your communicative and networking skills you easily collaborate with other members in the department and other Sandvik units.
