Arbetsbeskrivning
At Sandvik Coromant we encourage innovation and are always seeking to expand our knowledge within our areas of expertise. We are truly convinced that today's research generates tomorrow's success and our goal is to develop high quality products and introduce new tools that meet our market demands. We guide and support our customers to the most sustainable solutions, and this is how we strengthen our brand.
The Materials Design and Sintering department, consisting of R&D Technicians, R&D Engineers and Experts, is working with research and development of new cemented carbide materials and sintering processes for Coromant's cutting inserts. We implement new technologies in close collaboration with product development and production, and it is our responsibility to secure adequate IP protection for our technology platforms and access to cutting-edge technology for our future products. To strengthen our team, we are now looking for a curious and analytical R&D Engineer to be located in Västberga, Stockholm.
Key performance areas
As an R&D Engineer you take part in, and in some cases hold the responsibility for, development projects within the cemented carbide area of Coromant. Performing material development using powder metallurgical processes in our pilot plant, and analyzing and reporting results in technical reports and oral presentations are important parts of your daily work. You conduct measurements in our material physics laboratory, as well as protect findings of new technology with IP rights, with support from the IP department. In close collaboration with production, you also engage in process development of our sintering technology.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Master's in Engineering within Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or a similar field, while a relevant PhD or Licenciate is considered an advantage. Previous experience from research and development of powder materials and processes is advantageous as well as previous experience in project management. As we operate on the global stage, as well as locally in Västberga, you have good skills in Swedish and English, in both speaking and in writing.
We are sincerely interested in your personal qualities in this recruitment. You are curious, take the initiative and commit to finding new approaches for developing our R&D department as you promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvements. Using your analytical mind-set and structured working methods you set ambitious targets, deliver on promises and act on business priorities. In this position, you interact with numerous contacts and stakeholders, both internally and externally, and you understand the importance of clear communication and building trustworthy and long-lasting relationships.
We actively work to create a workplace that is characterized by diversity and inclusion.
