High Voltage Products is a business unit within Hitachi Energy. The business unit develop, manufacture and market high voltage products for HVAC and HVDC systems, such as surge arresters, breakers, instrument transformers, capacitors, cooling systems and cable accessories.

Your responsibilities
You will work with processes and material for Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) and surge arresters
Lead R&D project or work-package, with structured and target-oriented working style
Build experimental set-ups, conduct tests in pilot plant and analyze test results, possibly including physical modelling
Work with a global R&D team ensuring a knowledge sharing, timely and high-quality deliverables
Close collaboration with our Power Grids Research organization and with academia
Create ideas and proposals for new R&D projects
Effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other external partners Document results in the form of technical reports, presentations, IP etc.

Your background
Background in material science, High Voltage physics and/or electrotechnology, PhD or MSc combined with work-life experience
Experience with planning, conducting and analysis of experiments
Ability to also work in other technical areas, as for example: dielectrics, thermal management, Multiphysics integration
Good communication skills (oral and written) and team worker
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Experience in, or ability to develop, project management and technical leadership skills
