R&D Engineers within Product Development

Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of products in advanced stainless steels and special alloys for the most demanding environments, as well as products and systems for industrial heating. SMT consists of three product areas: Tube, Primary Products, and Strip, Wire and Heating Technology.

At the R&D Center within SMT, we work together with our customers to strengthen our market position and meet increasing demands. Our center set the industry standard when it comes to successful launches of new products and materials, and we are now looking for two talented engineers, interested in working in the automotive, petrochemical, and other interesting industries where stainless steels are used. These positions are temporary until December 31, 2017.

Job Summary
As an R&D Engineer you develop our product portfolio by identifying and solving technical problems connected to material and manufacturing, as well as by conducting materials studies using our well-equipped laboratories, reviewing and documenting the results in technical reports and presentations. You are also participating in product development projects and supporting the organization in responding to customers' questions about our products and their usage. Additionally, you represent SMT in external technical contexts, such as meetings with customers and at conferences.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Master's in Engineering, preferably in materials science or chemical engineering, with knowledge of and interest in materials, their properties and test methods. Previous experience working with product development is advantageous. Excellent communication skills in English, in both speaking and writing, are prerequisite for the position, and knowledge of Swedish is desirable.
