Arbetsbeskrivning
Seco Tools is a market-leading manufacturer of comprehensive metal cutting solutions for milling, stationary tools, hole making and tooling systems. We develop and supply the technologies, processes and support our customers’ needs to maximize their productivity and profitability.
At our R&D Materials and Technology Department in Fagersta, we develop materials and process technology for the company’s cutting tool inserts. We’re responsible for product and material development – all the way from raw material to finished products – and our team of skilled professionals actively engage in a common mission to develop the future of cemented carbides.
We’re now looking for a manager to lead our development of raw materials and powders, compaction and sintering. If you’re intrigued by the opportunity to work with a dedicated and skilled crew in a progressive business and in close collaboration with product development and manufacturing, then this is the one for you!
Briefly about the job
Being Manager for Cemented Carbide Technology, you take lead in securing the strategies, planning, and performance within the associated technology areas. You make the impossible possible by leading, motivating and constantly developing your team, and as you walk in the front line of development, you contribute with your technical knowledge and actively support the team in operational duties. Naturally, strong collaborations with other functions within and outside R&D are crucial, and you’re the one who ensures to build and uphold the collaborative ties.
In this role, you report to the Senior R&D Manager for Materials and Technology and Development at Seco Tools. You’re based with the team in Fagersta, though we offer the opportunity to work remotely when suitable.
What we see in you
Our team is changing the world every day, and this requires a leader who’s sincerely enthusiastic and inspires us to accomplish great things. If your supportive leadership comes from working as a manager, project manager or team lead doesn’t really make a difference, but you do need to have at least five years’ experience from materials development within a relevant industry segment to be truly successful. A master’s in Material Science, Physics or Chemistry is also a requirement, and it may even be of use to have a PhD. As we’re based in Sweden while acting on the international stage, you need to communicate as good as fluently in Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.
We see a team-oriented leader with a genuine interest in inclusive leadership and interaction, someone who easily collaborate and build strong relations based on trust and straightforward communication. You need to enjoy working with versatile groups of people with different strengths and skills, and you also need the ability to comprehend and grasp the bigger picture. Besides that, we truly value your profound interest in materials development as well as your pragmatic and result oriented mindset, combined with your strategic and organized way of working.
