Arbetsbeskrivning
For Seco Tools – a people company in the machining business – we’re currently looking for a business savvy people person for the exciting role as R&D Manager for Solid Milling. Are you eager to develop the next generation of our solid milling solutions, drive large technology projects and inspire the way we do business? Then we’re eager to meet you!
R&D is the soul of our work, as we deliver cutting edge products and solutions to our customers worldwide. Joining us, you get to work with an outstanding team of engaged and proficient colleagues, in a diverse setting where collaboration and flexibility really matter. Fairness, equal opportunities and an all-inclusive approach always pervades our actions, but we also have our eyes set on revolutionary ideas and bold creativity. Do you share this attitude? Please apply and contribute in shaping the future of our industry!
About the job
In this role, you help us build a customer-centric, efficient and profitable R&D organization that supports us in rapidly growing our offering and strengthening our market position going forward. You do this by holistically ensuring optimized ways of working, and you form a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, tech alliances and standard methodologies. You drive ongoing product development, take ownership for our solid milling roadmaps, act on business priorities and handle the R&D project portfolio. You also ensure effective daily operations, and you build new opportunities by transparent communication, disrupting the status quo and empowering people to unleash their ideas.
We operate in a setting with many interfaces and partners, and collaboration is central to us. Close interactions with customers is key. Building liaison between the Solid Milling team and the wider Seco organization is another important item on your agenda as we are bringing R&D closer to the business. You’re also a valued member of the Solid Round Tools Management team.
The members of your R&D team are located in Lottum (Netherlands), Fagersta (Sweden) and Reynoldsville (USA), and we need you to be based at either one of these sites. With a global customer base, the job also includes some planned travel.
About you
We’re looking for an inspiring, accessible, empathetic and forward-thinking leader with a technical background and experience from leading teams in global settings. Someone who drives improvements, invests in people and rewards fair play. You’re a good listener, an active developer, and a role model of our Seco culture.
Equally important is an understanding of business drivers and how to transform a strategy into a successful activity plan. You’ve got a relevant degree, combined with base material or coating development knowledge, and you’ve held previous R&D positions. You’re genuinely interested in getting to know our customers, understanding their challenges and how we can come up with solutions that exceed their expectations. You’re also skilled in driving projects and initiating change. As we work across borders and cultures, you need to be inclusive and you communicate fluently in English, while knowledge of Dutch is beneficial.
Our Seco culture
All Seco employees across the globe share our family spirit, along with a passion for our customers and a personal commitment to ensure success in everything we do. For us, it’s also clear that diversity and inclusion form an outstanding foundation for achieving great results. We invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our differences, and we highly value that perfect mix between work, family life and interests.
