R&D Manager Grade Development

The main mission for the Insert Tools organization is to support Seco Tools businesses through the development of new, innovative products; insert grades and insert carriers for turning, milling, drilling, and threading applications. Grade Development are a part of Insert Tools, and is responsible for shaping new grade development projects for Seco globally. Our project managers have full accountability of the grade development process, from idea to finished product ready for sale.
We are now looking for an R&D Manager Grade Developments in Fagersta – an experienced and confident leader with a sincere interest in taking the team to the next level. Your mission
In this position, you are responsible for the overall performance and delivery of the Grades team; a driven crew of experts with the willpower to develop both our products and themselves. You ensure that they have the space and opportunities to achieve this development, keeping them engaged and motivated while delivering results aligned with set goals and strategies. You cooperate with other managers within Insert Tools to ensure synergies and share best practices with the aim of moving the organization forward together.
With your technical knowledge, critical thinking, and coaching leadership skills, you know when to step in and assist the team and when to stand back. Furthermore, you are responsible for staff and career development, salaries, EHS, managing workforce diversity and organizational change. You are also a member of the Seco R&D Insert Tools management team.
This position is in Fagersta and we offer flexible work conditions and encourage applicants from nearby cities to show interest as well.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Materials Engineering, Technical Engineering or a similar field of studies. You have at least five years’ experience from successfully leading an R&D team, with experience from change management and a solid understanding of the industry we operate in. Since we act in a global environment, you have good written and verbal English skills, while knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
