HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi ABB’s Power Grids division located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
We are now looking for a Technology Team Manager for HVDC Control & Protection Systems Solution and PGGI Digital Analytics. In this role you will manage dynamic global technology teams with niche competences of HVDC, advanced digital analytics, software etc. If you have the necessary drive and results focus, we can offer a stimulating and dynamic environment in a global context where you will be working at the forefront of the industry.

Your responsibilities
Global responsibility for technology team, manage planning, execution of research and development (R&D) activities and resources
Ensure quality, cost, timeliness of deliverables and stakeholders satisfaction
Ensure cross-function, cross tech. line/business collaboration e.g. product management, portfolio management etc.
People management, promote sustainable competence and talent development
Create inspiring team’s vision connected with organization’s vision & strategy, promote innovation spirit and operation excellence
Committed to foster a culture of health, safety and integrity woven in everyday work

Your background
You have Master’s degree and strong technical background within power system or software development, preferably in HVDC, FACTS etc.
Knowledge of Digital analytics will be an advantage.
Passion for people and technology. You are smart collaborator, strong in decision making, and have right inner drive to deliver in a dynamic environment.
Prior experience in R&D and in people management are preferable.
Proficiency in English is a requirement as you will be part of a company that operates on the global arena.
