The Offer Management and R&D organization at Sandvik Coromant is responsible for knowledge, solutions, data and product development along with the introduction and maintenance of a strong portfolio. To our site in Västberga we’re now looking for an R&D Manager to lead our team of research engineers and technicians – developing our next generation materials and processes for PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coatings and Surface Treatment. About the job
In this position, you’re leading the development of the department – its people, way of working and for its deliveries of technology and products. You ensure the department’s operational work – including goal setting, financial monitoring, investments, quality-assurance, safety, and environment. You’re accountable for the short- and long-term competence development, investments, and the department’s resources. You identify and build networks with internal and external stakeholders within the field – both industrial and academic, to ensure a continuous development of our business.
About you
We’re looking for someone with a university degree in science or equivalent, combined with several years of work experience in R&D organization – such as R&D Professional, Project Manager or as a department manager. You have preferably experience from working within collaboration with external partners, as customers, academia and institutes. For us, quality of experience is more important than the number of years. As we work both locally and in a global setting, fluency in verbal and written English and Swedish is a requirement.
Your personal qualities are equally important, and an important asset is your inclusive and transformational leadership skills. You understand product and customer value, and some basic technical knowledge is required in this role, as you need to be able to answer questions. Creativity, flexibility and problem-solving skills are also important. Further, you have excellent communication and networking skills and actively interact with our stakeholders to establish a strong collaborative environment.
