The ICT Group is a rapidly growing organization that now has around 200 employees, across several offices around the world. Our work mainly involves events and marketing communication, as well as having our own production department both for still and moving images. Additionally, we offer support in 13 different languages.
As our R&D Manager you will provide technical input, prioritizing and managing the team's pipeline of work and make sure that the delivery is at top level. This person has superior organizational skills, keen attention to details, the ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple high priority request all while interfacing professionally both internally and externally. A critical part of this person's success will be in understanding the executive’s and company’s priorities to effectively organize time and make judgment calls on multiple competing initiatives. This person has the ability to think and plan holistically taking both personal and business needs in consideration. You do this by:
• Buidling high performing teams
• Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognized for their contribution
• Work with Business Stakeholders to communicate technical concepts and work on proposals and new development requirements
• Support the development and establishment of appropriate metrics and reporting, to allow the agile teams to monitor, identify and communicate progress.
• Leading the technical architecture and development of complex and highly scalable systems
• Able to review code and ensuring coding standards and development best practices are being kept to.
• Develop customer-focused goals, objectives, performance metrics, and processes that drive modernization, create efficiencies and deliver positive user experiences.
• Lead and continuous delivery of IT services through excellence in meeting service level agreements, creating technology enhancements, and maintaining system performance.
• Maintain a mission driven culture that encourages professional growth, creativity, and meaningful opportunities to accomplish goals.
• Mentoring and line management of the development team
• Providing technical implementation detail including estimated scop, cost and timings
• Sourcing, onboarding and oversight of any necessary specialist third-party development partners.
• Working in tandem with the UX, Creative, Production and QA teams to plan and scope project requirements and timings.
• Identity opportunities for new IT resources and recommend cost-effective solutions that enhance our mission and customer focused outlook.
• Be a part of the executive team and contribute to the overall business

Skills required:
• Experience of leading technical delivery teams and driving transformation
• Knowledge of the Software Development lifecycle from concept to delivery
• Have previously worked as senior PHP developer / or have transferable technical skills and knowledge of application architecture and development best practices
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new agile techniques, learn quickly and pass on this knowledge onto other team members
• Experience of mentoring and coaching teams
• You will have a proven track record of leading Agile teams and Agile methodologies
• Solid and demonstrable experience in managing off-shore developers, vendors and commercial arrangements
• Extensive experience of one or more PHP & JavaScript
• Good working knowledge of Git repo administration (Git Flow) including branching, merging and conflict resolution
• Experience implementing a test-driven approach to development and encouraging a testing and quality culture
• Good communications kills
• Good business knowledge
