HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi ABB Power Grids located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. As R&D Project Manager, you will have a broad role where your work content will change depending on development tasks.
Your responsibilities
You will set up and execute R&D projects related to HVDC System, Valve development and Valve electronics with MACH C&P for both, Greenfield and Service applications.
R&D projects variates and you will have the opportunity to:
- Run development projects and aligning product backlog of agile teams, both within R&D and HVDC line organization.
- Drive pre-studies and new developments in T&SDs global R&D organization, including Power Grid Research.
- Take care of MACH development projects (EPICs) for future HVDC delivery projects and upgrades of existing HVDC stations.
- Drive business development initiatives together with product management
You will join a team of R&D Project Managers and together we are responsible to develop our department, our processes and to learn from each other.

Your background
You have a civil engineering education, in either power systems, mechanical design, power electronics or HW and SW development, combined with experience in project management or agile development processes.
It is essential that you find it easy to adapt to flexible environments, you are well organized and with top communication and leadership skills.
You consider yourself to be a driven and eager to learn professional.
Fluency in English is a must, whereas Swedish skills are a merit.
