The Product Group Transformer Components and Service is a key product group within Hitachi Energy. In one of our main units, located in Ludvika, Sweden, we develop, sell, and produce Transformer Bushings and Tap-Changers.
We are looking for a new R&D SCM Specialist, who will be a speaking partner towards our suppliers for R&D projects. You will be located in Ludvika, but you will collaborate on a global arena with a wide range of stakeholders. Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and join us in making it happen?
As R&D SCM Specialist, you will be part of a key function in driving and coordinating sourcing activities together with our suppliers and internal interfaces such as Engineering, Production, Quality and Marketing & Sales. You will work together with a team of category specialists, who support each other in a high paced environment with great atmosphere and also with stakeholders to compare and develop the best value chain for the new product, considering total cost of ownership.
To be successful in this role you need to be a team player with entrepreneurial attitude who is driven, structured and has a result-oriented mindset. You understand, discuss, and agree on CAD drawings & parts tolerance with suppliers and translate engineering requests into SCM parameters for execution.
Your responsibilities
Function as bridge between R&D Engineering and SCM, integrating SCM insights into the development process to enhance cost, quality, and technology.
Act as technical professional interface between the R&D Team and the SCM organization, ensuring that project information is adequately shared between the Project Team and the relevant SCM teams.
Work according to the gate model, arranging project SCM gate meetings as required and creating and maintaining the project related SCM documents.
Be responsible for initial cost and quality estimates and achieving product cost and quality targets. Work to optimize the cost and quality at all stages of the R&D projects, including investment and test costs.
Work with the local SCM team and Category Managers to find new potential materials or new potential suppliers for critical parts. Select, together with the SCM partners, the R&D prototype suppliers, and final production material suppliers, in line with product cost requirements, product footprint requirements and SCM strategies, ensuring sustainable quality and cost.
Manage directly with the suppliers for each project the ordering and on time delivery of the prototype parts, following project development and testing plan. Work to minimize the prototype and out-turn sample delivery time to reduce overall project timeline.

Your background
University degree in Engineering or equal
Experience in Supply Chain Management
Proven skills in project management and document management
Drive to challenge yourself and the organization for continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Well versed in MS tools – Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Power BI, etc.
Fluent in English, Swedish is a plus.
Knowledge of production methods, materials, and standards (ISO, DIN, IS) is a plus.
