We are looking for a R&D Engineer to support HVDC Control & Protection Systems Solution R&D activities by performing assigned tasks and actively participate in R&D teams activities, collaborate with dynamic global technology teams with niche competences and cutting-edge technology of HVDC.
You will be part of the Technology & Solutions Development (business R&D) organization in HVDC, Hitachi Energy, Ludvika, Sweden. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is an enabler for renewable energy integration, support futures energy transition for a sustainable future. Your responsibilities
As R&D Support Specialist, you will be supporting below activities for HVDC control and protection application:
Life Cycle (LCM) and End or Life (EOL) management of hardware e.g. LAN, SCM equipment and software
Upkeep release database and tag LCM issues
Handling various software licenses e.g. Microsoft, Intime, regular reporting
Handling of Hardware keys, distribution, upgrades
Coordinate Kanban meeting, backlog alignment meetings, record keeping e.g. MOM, action lists
Interface and coordination with Supply Chain e.g. regarding purchasing of e.g. workstations, firewalls, switches, licenses etc.
Your proactive and smart actions will enable R&D team’s efficiency thus achieve higher customer value.
As team member, you will work in a global team, technically collaborate with colleagues.

Your background
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent.
2-3 years of proven experience from working in IT System industry is desirable.
Knowledge of HVDC technology or the MACH™ system will be an added advantage.
Ability to work well in a team and deliver towards common goals, with attention to details, accuracy.
It is important that you have a strong interest in new technology and a willingness to share your knowledge.
You contribute with a strong problem-solving mindset and endurance to impact R&D team’s delivery.
Proficiency in English, both verbal and written is required. Skills in Swedish language will be of added value.
