R&D Tools Manager
R&D Tools is a newly defined global focus area in the R&D Services organization, with the mission to provide the ASSA ABLOY R&D community with a portfolio of digital tools that make their day-to-day work faster and more efficient. R&D Services is part of the Group Technology Team reporting to the ASSA ABLOY Group CTO.
The R&D Tools Manager role is currently held within the Group Technology Team off-shore account with Nagarro in Gurgaon, and the ambition is now to make this into a permanently employed position based in Stockholm.
The Role
The R&D Tools Manager is responsible to define a strategy and establish a portfolio of digital tools that help the everyday life of R&D people throughout the ASSA ABLOY Group. The role is end to end responsible for the portfolio of tools, ensuring they are available and accessible, that communication and training is made available to users and that there is a collaborative spirit and an active community for the domain.
To achieve this, the R&D Tools Manager needs to have in depth knowledge about the ASSA ABLOY Corporate structure as well as it’s internal politics in order to successfully manage global governance. Technically, the ideal candidate would need deep insight into tools used for successful Agile planning and software delivery, as well as experience rolling such out through a complex decentralized group of companies.
The emphasis of the toolbox is on Software Development and Collaboration tools. CAD and PLM is a separate focus area in R&D Services and hence is not included in the R&D Tools Manager role.
The Candidate
As R&D Tools Manager in the ASSA ABLOY Group you put the user first and strive to continuously improve your delivery. You are very knowledgeable in the software development domain, with principles such as DevOps, SAFe, Agile and Lean Product Development. You have a keen interest in digital tools used within this domain and constantly keep yourself updated on new tools and industry trends. You are also knowledgeable in how to set and follow up requirements towards an IT organization to ensure you are able to deliver the correct service level to your users.
You are used to working in a decentralized environment and preferably you have prior insight into the ASSA ABLOY Group structure and governance.
You are a communicative and collaborative team player that can be effective in a functional leadership role. You have a strategic mindset and experience structuring and building up an energized team that can deliver scalable value.
