The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used, among other things, to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems. HVDC is currently looking for a R&D Value Chain Specialist with an engineering background to join the team.
For this role, we are searching for you who demonstrate excellent commercial acumen and technical grasp of electrical, electronic & mechanical engineering requirements and solutions. You will provide operational support for supply chain matters to all R&D projects, and you will be the point of contact for supplier qualification, development, and performance monitoring. This function will build a bridge between the Supply Chain and R&D organizations, and you will be working to coordinate and create a seamless communication and collaboration between the two functions.

Your responsibilities
Plan and control inventory of testing/Protype materials.
Manage storage, relocation, and retrieval of goods for various R&D projects.
Manage execution of material releases in the SAP system.
Oversee supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and report/resolve performance and quality issues.
Coordinate activities to track location and movement of inventory of goods and raw materials.
Identify and qualify new suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team, supplier quality and engineering specialists, and drive the supplier qualification process to ensure supplier base is fully qualified and compliant.
Develop and support suppliers to achieve ongoing conformance with Hitachi Energy requirements and continual improvements in quality.
Collaboration with all functions such as SCM, Quality, Testing, Engineering etc.

Your background
Degree in Engineering or similar area.
Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in a project environment such as supply chain management, delivery projects or project management, engineering, or similar.
Experience with working in matrix organizations; ability to lead network-wide with direct and non-direct responsibility.
Very good SAP knowledge and good MS Office knowledge.
Strong communication, collaboration, and social skills, with high-level influencing and negotiation skills.
Good time management and task prioritization skills.
Highly proficient in English, both written and spoken. Swedish will be an added advantage.

Additional information
This role can be based in either Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden, with the opportunity to work remotely up to a couple of days per week. Some business travel will be required.
