Role Summary/Purpose
The REACH expert role is a position within the Chemical Regulations Risk Management organisation in Uppsala. Your primary responsibility will be to drive and coordinate activities relevant to the Uppsala site related to the REACH regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006), including, for example, Registration of substances and compliance with Strictly Controlled Conditions.

Essential Responsibilities
As REACH expert, you will implement and manage REACH related procedures as well as facilitate and manage contact with local and national authorities in case of REACH audits. You will also be responsible for monitoring policy & regulatory developments on REACH and associated policies. You will also work with national industry groups and in particular their REACH working groups.


Essential in this role will be your ability to engage and communicate with a number of on-site key functions and stakeholders to achieve robust and long-term solutions.

Your key responsibilities will be to coordinate, implement, maintain and improve aspects of the site´s REACH procedures and deliveries. You will provide direct supervision, guidance and coaching to cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, sourcing, product management and EHS, to achieve compliance with the different aspects of the REACH regulation. As REACH expert, you will also coordinate activities with consultants for tasks such as REACH registration. Your role will also include project management of specific REACH related projects.

Qualifications/Requirements

Master's Degree in chemistry, environmental science, chemical/environmental engineering or related field
Experience from relevant chemical industry, preferably heavy chemical manufacturing
Knowledge of chemical legislation and in particular of the REACH regulation
Keeping abreast of regulatory changes
Experience of working with authorities at local and national levels
Experience in conducting internal trainings
Experience in managing cross-functional and multi-disciplinary projects
Be able to work under pressure in multiple projects simultaneously and be able to set priorities
Proven ability to execute and deliver on commitments
Excellent analytical skills and willingness to pay attention to details
Demonstrated self-starter and team player.
Self-motivated, responsible and comfortable in independently making decisions
Excellent communicator (written and verbal communication skills)
Fluent in Swedish and English
Willingness to travel in Europe
EU work permit
