Scania realizes that the future is here and is currently adapting to a situation where software is a central part of the product. For our team, real-time software platform, this is a challenging and exciting time. We need you to join us in the development of a new software platform. The new software platform will be used in all real-time critical ECUs at Scania and at our partners in the Traton group. In this team, you will find an open-minded culture and a joyful atmosphere that is driven by mutual respect and a genuine enthusiasm for embedded systems.
Your role
You will join a team of skilled software developers and architects and together you will plan and implement new features of the real-time software platform e.g support for multicore or easier packaging of SW components for use in different ECUs. Features are implemented both into software modules and libraries written in embedded C and into code generation tools written in python and C#. The team makes important design decisions about architecture, tools, and frameworks. These decisions affect many stakeholders and developers.
Your code will run a hundred times every second in hundreds of ECUs on hundreds of thousands of trucks in more than hundred countries all over the world.
Your profile
You fit into one of these descriptions:
• You are an experienced embedded system developer or architect that wants to change to a position where your experience is appreciated and can make a big impact.
• You are looking for the perfect first position after an inspiring education where you found that embedded systems fit your interests. You want to continue to learn embedded systems from the best experts available and you have new fresh ideas from your educations that you are eager to use on real products.
• You are an experienced software developer working on a mobile app, web application, a game, or similar but want to try something new. You want to work on real things and learn embedded systems. You are up to date on software development in general and want to bring these ideas into embedded software development.
In general, you have a big interest in embedded systems and software development. You enjoy improving the development experience and creating frameworks and architecture that make life easier for other software developers. High curiosity and the ability to dig deep into big systems. You prefer to work in a team, sharing responsibility, offering and accepting help when needed. We believe in strong teams and put pride in succeeding together. You are fluent in both written and spoken English (Swedish is meriting).
You know, love, or hate some of the following tools and programming languages:
C/C++, python, visual studio code, Matlab/Simulink, Git, GitLab, Perforce, C#, visual studio, CMake, INCA, Conan, Artifactory.
