Group Real Estate is an integrated function in the Volvo Group, with strategic and operational responsibility for the Group’s properties and real estate assets as well as for facility management. We are responsible for the entire property lifecycle, from acquisition to divestment. We optimize the use and value of the Volvo Group's facilities, owned and leased. We act as a center of expertise, generating economies of skill and scale in the real estate area. The business control function within Europe division is a highly engaged group of regional controllers, and consists of employees situated at different sites in Sweden and also Russia. You will report to the Director Business control within Europe division.
JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be located with our business control team in Gothenburg and your main task will be to support and follow-up our region in Gent, Belgium. As a regional business controller you are an active business partner for the region as well as the business control community. In the regional controller role you will work closely with the Financial Controlling & Accounting organization during the closing and estimate processes. Property Plant & Equipment related investments are an important part of the work, and also taking part in various projects. As a regional controller you are expected to drive your own tasks independently, and when needed seek information and support from colleagues. Re-occurring tasks are mixed with ad-hoc questions and analyzes.
Where your focus will be:
Secure accurate reporting of the regional result during the monthly closing process
Analyze and comment the actual result versus budget and latest estimate
Secure quarterly estimates with updated numbers and comments based on recent business events
Drive and coordinate the annual business plan process for the region
Support, validate and follow-up all investments within the region
Follow-up and monitor prioritized KPIs
Additional specific tasks linked to the Swedish legal companies and annual reports
Be the business control representative in major projects driven by the business
Drive smaller, business control specific projects
Identify and implement continuous improvements to foster efficient processes and productivity
Be an active part of the team and contribute to a strong team spirit

Required knowledge/experience:
We are looking for someone who has experience from business control and good knowledge in accounting. Experience from finance systems such as SAP Master Finance is extra important. To be successful in this position we would like to see the following knowledge/experience:
Bachelor degree in Business Control and Accounting
5+ years working experience in the business control field
Excellent computer skills, especially SAP Master Finance, SAP VGCS, and BIS
IFRS16 and its implication for real estate accounting
General real estate knowledge is preferred
