Production Logistics is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 650 employees, globally connected to deliver logistics solutions with world class operational excellence. We ensure that transportation is purchased, packaging is made available at our suppliers, material is transported to our production facilities, and vehicles are distributed to our customers on time. We design and optimize the Production Logistics supply chain for the Volvo Group, prepare logistics for new products and drive the Sales & Operations Planning process. Logistics Purchasing is a team in Production Logistics, responsible for sourcing logistics services in the Volvo Group.






Role description
In the Regional Buyer role you will be responsible for the logistics purchasing operations and be the purchasing interface with Volvo internal stakeholders and suppliers in the region. You will ensure implementation of global sourcing strategies and projects, systems and processes, and drive operational efficiency in managing your contract portfolio. You will be part of a diverse team of professional purchasers located at multiple sites within the region. Sustainable purchasing is our priority.




Main activities and responsibilities
• Manage assigned tenders including analysis, calculation, evaluation, suppliers meetings and negotiations
• Make sure that contract and price data is correct and timely updated in all relevant systems
• Manage the commercial relationship with specified suppliers
• Acquire regional business intelligence and share knowledge about the evolution of costs & trends within the logistics sector
• Identify potential new suppliers and develop innovative logistics solutions in the region
• Be the first purchasing point of contact for assigned contracts and running business
• Drive purchasing efficiency through continuous improvements






Who are you?
We assume that you have great cooperative and communication skills as you are dealing with multiple contacts both outside and inside of your organization. You have the ability to lead and are not afraid of taking on responsibility and drive negotiations. You are used to working in a multinational and multicultural environment.
You have a strategic mindset and as a person you are target oriented and believe there is always room for improvements. You are self-driven and able to propose solutions.




Required knowledge/experience
•Hold a university degree and/or MBA
•You have at least 2-4 years of relevant work experience within Supply Chain, Logistics and/or Purchasing
•You have strong analytical skills with a holistic perspective and eye for details
•You are skilled in Office 365 environment and preferably have worked with SAP and Power BI
