Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) is a world-leading supplier of equipment and complete solutions for the mining and construction industries.The Sourcing organization within SMC consists of 140 people and is organized globally in categories and regions.The goal of Sourcing is to develop and implement the best strategies to drive the supply market according to SMC needs.SMC is now looking for a Regional Category Engineer for SMC Sourcing team in Europe. Key performance areas Your work as the Regional Category Engineer will be divided between two main sourcing categories.You will work 60% for the Hydraulics & Pneumatics team and 40% for the Electrics team.As Regional Category Engineer your responsibilities will be, among other things, to: - Fulfill the demands from the Global & European sourcing teams within the two categories.As a member of those European teams you will be a part of the decision-making process and subsequently implement agreed strategies in Europe - Manage your supplier base in areas such as supplier performance, supplier qualification and evaluation, total cost of ownership, capacity constraints and supplier quality within your area of responsibility - For all suppliers for whom you are Supplier Account Manager, you are responsible for running negotiations, writing contracts, cost development, quality performance and delivery performance - Manage the supplier base; utilize synergies and volume benefits or other benefits within your area of responsibility and for the business area of SMC - Contribute to the spirit of the global category teamwork on a regional basis to implement common decisions.- Implement assigned sourcing projects and maintains projects in the project portfolio - Work and report in accordance with the sourcing routines and tools - Follow developments in the supply market and identify potential new suppliers - Make sure that suppliers adhere to the Sandvik Supplier Code of Conduct As the Regional Category Engineer you will be actively working with Research and Development, Production and the Product Lines.You must be able to both see the small problems and act to solve them, but also to have an overall view of the situation.Your individual targets are based on KPIs, on regional team performance, total cost development, supplier performance and quality.The position involves some travel within Europe, up to a maximum of 30 days annually. Your profile You hold a university degree, are a professional in sourcing and have good skills in negotiation and supplier base management.Excellent communication and coordination skills are required.Sourcing work experience specifically within hydraulics and/or electrical components and/or automation is advantageous.It is also an advantage if you are familiar with Movex M3 which is the ERP system used in Svedala.As an individual you have a structured, systematic and analytical approach to work.Additionally, you are motivated, independent and open-minded, with the ability to create networks and build teams.
