Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.
IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Are you our new Regional Director North? The role covers all management responsibilities for the schools in the region. This includes safeguarding the IES ethos, operational performance, financial stability and leadership, with quality standards and delivery as prerequisites. You will report to the CEO and be a member of the Leadership Team. The position is located at IES HQ, Danderyd, but requires frequent travel to the schools within the region.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the IES ethos is prioritised in schools and that educational standards are both maintained and developed
- Overall responsibility for quality and financial performance
- Full line management and work environment responsibility for principals
- Responsible for recruitment of new principals, ensuring robust succession and development planning of future leaders with support from HR
- Drive and safeguard best practice sharing across IES
- Actively drive and support the development of IES, aligned with the overall vision and targets of IES
- Actively participate in HQ driven strategic projects in leadership and quality development, on an IES level as well as for the region
- Coordinate support needs to new principals and principals opening new schools
- Work on and contribute to projects on IES level as well as for the region
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
- Several years of proven track record in successfully leading compulsory schools in Sweden (experience from running an IES school is preferred)
- Experience from leading leaders in education
- Experience in budget responsibility and thorough knowledge of the financial aspects of an organisation like IES
- Understanding the complexity of leading an organisation with an international culture
- Proven track record of delivering results in a school organisation
- Fluency in English and Swedish, international experience preferred
