BAE Systems Hägglunds currently has two vacancies for Regional Directors focused towards Western Europe and Central- & Eastern Europe respectively. The roles offer the right candidate the opportunity to work as a member of Hägglunds’ highly motivated and dynamic International Business Development team delivering key business objectives driving growth in our business opportunities.

Job description
You will lead the identification, development and capture of business opportunities in the assigned regions across the BAE Systems Hägglunds portfolio of combat- and all-terrain vehicles while continuously furthering current and future potential customer awareness of our products, services and capabilities. You will develop and maintain strategies for the countries in your region outlined in appropriately detailed country plans. You will build relations across the spectrum of customer stakeholders as well as with business partners and other BAE Systems representatives active in your region. With internal support from our managers in the Programmes, Engineering, Support Services and Legal functions the role also includes the responsibility to ensure the coherence of all business development activities in the countries of your region on a Through Life basis.

The challenges and opportunities within the international business environment are demanding and the role will require you at times to deliver outcomes under considerable time pressure. The ideal candidate for the role of Regional Director will display considerable reserves of commitment, tenacity, flexibility and discipline and you will most likely have several years of experience from working in a complex environment in an international context. It also includes a fair amount of travel but in return offers a large degree of independence and a job out of the ordinary.

Job qualifications
Essential
• Commercial experience (business-to-business or business-to government)
• Management and leadership experience from a line organisation or project
• Ability to express yourself concisely and accurately in written and spoken English
• Comprehensive analytical skills that you can employ to visualize complex contexts (e.g. a business case)
• Ability to understand and be able to relate to military requirements for different systems and capabilities
• Superb social and collaborative skills
• Adept at working with the usual MS Office tools

Desirable
• Further language skills appropriate for the intended region (including Swedish)
• A military background is not necessarily required but if you do have a military background it should at a minimum be as an OF3/OR8.
