Regional Procurement & Supply Chain Lead

The ALS Northern Europe region is a part of the ALS Group. The sub-region consists of approx. 400 employees with laboratories in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The company is focused on initiatives to improve Total Shareholder Return, of which strengthening the procurement and supply chain function is at the highest priority in the short term.

Location: Preferred Stockholm Sweden or Humlebæk Denmark
Reports to: Global Procurement & Supply Chain Director (solid line) and General Manager(s) for the region (dotted line) and routinely interacts with operations, finance and other management personnel.


About the Position
This role will oversee procurement and supply chain activities in the company’s Northern Europe region. The role will be primarily responsible for coordinating with others in the global procurement function and with business leaders at the laboratory level to assess, develop and implement best practices and establish centralized procurement and supply chain support function for this region.

Specific Responsibilities
· Coordinate with existing laboratory managers, regional business leaders and global procurement and supply chain leadership to develop plan for procurement execution in the region building on existing capabilities.
· Develop plan for implementing centralized procurement and supply chain function.
· Identify, develop, qualify and improve relationships with existing and new vendors that can support product needs for the region with focus on increasing reliability and value, while reducing costs and risk.
· Support the development and implementation of a common ERP system in 2023-2024.
· Set respective KPIs and ensure adherence, performance measurement and target achievement.


About you
Skills and Behaviors:
· Practical and detailed approach to dealing with improvement opportunities needed in the business.
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal, communication skills.
· Advanced Computer Skills – Microsoft Excel, Databases and MS Office.
· Comprehension and ability to negotiate contract terms and conditions language with limited support
· Organized and able to multi-task between many goals and strategies.

Experience and Qualifications:
· Fluent in both verbal and written English + a Nordic language (Swedish/Danish/Norwegian)
· 6 -10+ years of Procurement and/or Laboratory or Business Management experience in progressively advancing roles.
· BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, or related field (preferred).
· Demonstrated record of ability to implement continuous improvement ideas that deliver cost savings, efficiency and optimization of capabilities.
· Inventory Management or Oracle software experience preferred.
