BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Incumbent conducts inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of unclassified technical security equipment and devices. Studies and makes recommendations for way to improve the effectiveness of the security systems at all the U.S. Government posts in the Stockholm region, including Oslo and Copenhagen. All applicants must be available for extended deployments worldwide.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Required Education: Completion of three years diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical engineering from a reputed institution is required.

2. Required Prior Experience: At least five years of hands-on field experience in major repairs and installation of electrical and heavy-duty mechanical equipment, closed circuit television, alarm systems, public address and vehicle arrest hydraulic systems is required.

3. Language Requirement: Level III in English (good working knowledge) is required, Swedish preferred. Able to write acceptable drafts in English and literate drafts in Swedish.

4. Other Skills: Must have initiative and good knowledge of power systems, use of all kinds of test equipment and should be able to trouble shoot and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment. Must be willing to work in crawl spaces, pits, and underground spaces that are dirty, wet, hot, cold, and/or dangerous due to their exotic locations for extended periods of time.

Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Must be able to apply knowledge of above in the installation and maintenance of Security equipment. Must be able to read blueprints and schematic diagrams of electrical and mechanical drawings, minor adjustments and repairs. Ability to use electronic test equipment. Should be able to use his knowledge and skills to rectify problems associated with security equipment independently. Must possess a current and valid Swedish driver's license.

5. Required Minimum Qualification for Training Level: Completion of three years diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical engineering is required; at least three years of hands-on field experience in major repairs and installation of electrical and heavy-duty mechanical equipment, closed circuit television, alarm systems, public address and vehicle arrest systems is required; Level III in English (good working knowledge) is required.
