The Environment and SoC Compliance department is responsible for Regulatory Affairs within environmental and material related product regulations. We are actively monitoring the development of new regulations and standards worldwide.
Our department is part of the function Quality, Environment and Product Compliance. In the role as Regulatory Affairs Manager, you will be part of the cross-functional Regulatory Affairs team at Volvo Penta with highly competent colleagues in a stimulating environment. You will report to the director Environment and Substance Compliance and be located in Gothenburg.


Position Description


You will work as a regulatory affairs expert, both with your Volvo Penta network and with trade organizations, authorities, and other external stakeholders to derive a comprehensive understanding of technologies and regulatory developments of concern.
The work includes, but is not limited to, monitoring policy changes to relevant product legislation, standards and initiatives related to sustainability. Relevant topics for engagement may include disclosure rules, carbon footprint declaration, energy and recycling efficiencies, due diligence information and/or producer responsibilities.
The assignment requires a good understanding of procedures and requirements as well as product life cycle management from a regulatory affairs perspective.
The position implicates a broad contact network both within- and outside of the company and an opportunity for personal development in an international atmosphere where you will have your voice heard.
You will represent Volvo Penta in selected industry forums which includes writing, reviewing, and editing comments for public submission on behalf of Volvo Penta.
Internally Volvo Penta, the Regulatory Affairs Manager has an assignment to:
Make product management and development teams aware of relevant market trends, policy changes, and other factors affecting sales of existing and/or future products.
Identify potential regulatory risks and/or opportunities and propose options to mitigate these within Volvo Penta organization.
Establish targets and compliance requirements in projects with Product Planning and provide expertise and guidance on procedural and documentation requirements.
Support compliance engineers in interpretation and application of regulations and standards.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

To succeed, we believe that your background and skills include:
Master of Science degree or similar level of education within relevant field
Experience within the field of eco design and due diligence.
Knowledge in areas related to electromobility, fuel cells automation and connectivity, and/or track and trace management.
Experience from working with lobbying in an international environment.
Excellent knowledge in building frameworks (process, methods, strategies, plans) and leveraging intrapreneurial skills in large, cross-functional organizations.
A structured and accurate way of working, with experience in defining requirement and balancing requirement between stakeholders and technical solution.
Excellent communication skills, both in terms of reports, presentations and in discussions.
Fluency in English is an absolute minimum
Fluency in Swedish gives a strong advantage
