The Regulatory Analysis Team
The EMEA Regulatory Analysis team for VAT, based over offices in Stockholm, Lisbon and Istanbul, offers interesting and challenging legal research work in a multinational environment within a cutting-edge space at the cross-roads of fiscal compliance and IT/information security. With a team of seven Regulatory Counsels/Specialists, currently with roots in Albania, Brazil, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Turkey and Venezuela, we enjoy cooperation and exchange with our fellow Regulatory Analysis teams in other regions. Together we provide the regulatory intelligence that powers our suite of products.
The Work You'll Do
Our work includes global regulatory research within multiple jurisdictions, primarily relating to electronic invoicing and electronic tax reporting, which entails both tax and information security aspects. We monitor legislative and regulatory developments in our supported jurisdictions and analyze the effects that any such changes could potentially have to our products and services. The Regulatory Analysis team works closely with Product Management to ensure that our products meet relevant legal requirements, and co-design future software solutions.
As part of the Regulatory Analysis team, you will provide the legal research and detailed analysis of changing legislation that powers our compliance solutions. More specifically this means:
Proactively and continually monitor legislative and regulatory developments concerning electronic document regulations. These requirements are mainly related to indirect tax, accounting, and commercial legislation.
Help determine the impact of regulatory changes on Sovos’ solutions and provide detailed, timely and accurate information regarding those changes to relevant colleagues, in order to implement such changes in Sovos’ solutions.
Explain legal requirements in clear language for internal and external audiences e.g. by conducting workshops for relevant teams and customers, supporting customers by providing regulatory expertise, drafting regulatory documents and keeping the market informed through webinars and blog posts.

What We Need From You
We would especially welcome a few years (0-4) of experience in one or more of the areas of: Indirect Tax Law, VAT, Accounting or ICT/Information Security and legal aspects thereof.
Many of our colleagues hold degrees in Law, however we believe that you have at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in one of the areas listed above.
The job requires an excellent command of spoken and written English. Additional language skills such as Chinese, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Arabic, Spanish or other is a great merit.
We also think that you are highly analytical, strive for accuracy, and have the ability to clearly and concisely synthesize and communicate information. We place a high value on collaboration and look for team-players.
