Job Description
About the job
The primary focus of a Principal would be on projects within Mining and Metals sectors, especially those contributing decarbonization, increasing sustainability, developing new business practices, products and technologies, raising asset and company value of existing and prospective clients.
The successful candidate will work within a dynamic project-based environment focusing on delivering smart solutions to a global clientele, and will be located in our London, Helsinki, Stockholm, Munich or Vienna office (please present an evidence of the right to work in the country for which you are applying).




Responsibilities:
Accelerate business of AFRY and meet sales targets through selling projects to new clients and repeat sales to existing clients along the Metals and Mining value chain:
Develop and maintain long-lasting client relationships
Follow latest industry trends and identify growth opportunities for AFRY, develop new service offerings
Prepare proposals including approach and budget
Represent AFRY at relevant industry conferences and events
Proactively engage with other AFRY departments and offices to enable and develop cross-department services and solutions
Manage large and complex projects ensuring client expectations are met, quality standards are maintained, and project profitability is delivered through effective organisation, planning, monitoring, and client management
Develop new intellectual capital and ensure knowledge and intellectual capital are shared within the project team and broader AFRY environment
Deliver reports and presentations that convey information clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways which maximise impact.





Qualifications and requirements:
7-15 years of experience in the Mining and Metals sector
Very good degree (at least Bachelor) in economics, Business, material science or engineering; we also welcome candidates from other relevant backgrounds
A broad and deep professional network and contacts across the industry and financing institutions
Proven working experience in different roles relates to Metal and Mining sector (i.e. start-ups, consulting project management)
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to untangle complex issues
Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment and to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization. There is some requirement for business travel, although most of work will be based in our offices
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, produce high-quality results within deadlines and budget. Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment that values initiative, creativity, maturity and credibility
Proficiency in English and local language
