Senior Release Engineer/DevOps to mBlox in Lund or Stockholm



As a Release Engineer/DevOps in mBlox Core Engineering team, you will evangelize the Devops role by working close to the SCRUM teams as responsible for driving and developing, in coordination with other mBlox Release Engineers, the solutions and tools for automated test and deployment on mBlox Messaging Platform.

You will participate in planning the overall release and CI process and frameworks, and you will represent the development team in regular discussions with our global production team and release manager.

The position will be located in Lund or Stockholm office, depending on the preferred location and profile of the successful candidate.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

. Responsible for developing and delivering automated Continuous Test and Integration solutions with the team as part of an agile process.
. Responsible for writing and maintaining automated deployment scripts.
. Responsible for managing quality gates and deployments of mBlox applications to the development, QA and Systems Integration Test, Staging and Production Environments
. Responsible for defining and performing deployment sanity testing
. Responsible for coordinating with the Software Development team to ensure that necessary environments are prepared and configured in a timely manner
. Deliver software builds to QA test environments in accordance with testing schedules
. Responsible for troubleshooting software configuration issues on all environments


Education

. Degree level education required preferably in Information Technology, Mathematics or Science/Engineering
. Ideally vocational qualifications or proven experience in Software Architecture, Development or Testing


Experience

. Proven experience in software configuration troubleshooting
. Experience of deploying and configuring Java applications
. Experience of Web server technologies such as Apache Tomcat or Nginx
. Experience of working in an agile SCRUM methodology.
. Experience of general http(s) use and debugging tools
. Experience building and supporting a Continuous Test and Integration environment, using Jenkins or similar CI tool.
. Extensive experience working in network/software configuration management
. Experience of automated testing is beneficial (JUnit, JMeter, TestNG)
Skills

. Strong Linux System Administration Skills
. Good Java knowledge and an understanding of debugging running Java applications
. Strong Python, Pearl, Shell or similar scripting skills, experience of Fabric a real plus
. Knowledge of other automation tools like Puppet, Chef, Salt, Capistrano, Vagrant is a plus
. Must be technical enough to establish credibility with smart engineers quickly.
. He/she will need to have good communication skills combined with the ability to relate effectively to individuals at all levels in the organisation and sell concepts.
. Entrepreneurial drive, demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment.
. Pro-active and self sufficient individual capable of liaising with other development and production support teams.
. Self-motivated and able to work in a highly dynamic organisation.
. Able to work as part of a global team.

. SQL - MySql and postgres with an understanding of relational databases.
