A day in the life of a Release Manager
As our Release Manager at The Gang, you’ll lead the way in preparing and delivering builds across an array of platforms. You have a passion for removing obstacles, solving problems and making sure things get done!
You'll craft release schedules, ensuring smooth communication with stakeholders, documenting project status, and collaborating closely with key project figures to meet Release Acceptance Criteria.
You will coordinate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, marketing, and operations to ensure smooth, timely, and high-quality releases. Your role is critical in ensuring that each game release meets all technical, operational, and quality standards, delivering an exceptional experience to our players. Your expertise in submission processes and platform requirements will be crucial in ensuring timely releases while continually refining and improving our Release Management Processes. Hosting weekly release planning meetings, you'll also be at the forefront of fostering excellence in our delivery processes.

To be successful in this position

Experience as Producer / Project Manager roles in software development, managing projects throughout its life cycle from idea to release/live service


Proven experience submitting titles & content updates.


Proven understanding of the Development Lifecycle.


Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.


Previous experience in QA is a plus.


Game development experience strongly preferred


Experience from agile development methods in a cross-functional team environment, preferably from a variation of settings


Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written


An organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated personality


A pragmatic mindset and ability to motivate individuals and teams


Example responsibilities

Execute on product roadmaps and goals for multiple teams


Ensure communication and coordination of work internally and with external partners


Process: Facilitation of day-to-day, establish and improve ways of working


Ensure team productivity and focus


Providing transparency on project status and risks to stakeholders.


Develop and maintain detailed release schedules, including key milestones and deadlines.


Coordinate with development teams to ensure all release components (code, assets, builds) are ready and meet quality standards.


Continuously evaluate and improve release processes to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and improve quality.


Work closely with QA to ensure all bugs and issues are identified, documented, and resolved before release.


Monitor game performance and stability post-release, coordinating with the development and support teams to address any issues that arise.


Manage hotfixes, patches, and updates, ensuring they are delivered promptly and effectively.
