About the job
In this position, you are responsible for managing cross cutting initiatives including, but not limited to, technical activities, new development, implementations, roll outs and coordination of different delivery teams and their activities during the initiative lifecycle.
The Release Manager has great leadership skills, believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust. Working with a focus on value creation, growth and serving customers with full ownership and accountability.
As the Release manager of Seco IT, you are responsible for the well-being of our releases. You have multiple stakeholders that you collaborate with and communicate with when needed. The release manager is the focal point between the business teams, delivery teams and infrastructure teams.
Other tasks include:
Plan common release windows for Seco delivery teams to enable major releases and/or cross-team dependencies to be deployed
Manage and coordinate common releases by chairing status meetings, identifying dependencies, creating release plans, assessing impact and conflicts, allocating resources, ensuring adequate testing and planning the closure and hyper-care
Coordinate appointed Release Coordinators from each delivery Team
Maintain a holistic view of Seco deliverables and their dependencies
Manage, solve or escalate conflict and risks escalated by Release Coordinators
Maintain and align the overall release communication with stakeholders
Drive improvements within the Release Management process
Drive and encourage standardization and automation within Release Management
Participate in projects dedicated to aligning and integrate agile and ITIL processes and tools

The location for this position is flexible and you can be based anywhere (globally) where Seco has a presence.

Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree in IT or tech, accompanied by an in-depth knowledge of agile concepts and tools such as Srum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow and it’s advantageous if you have a general understanding of project management. You understand build management, CI/CD, Git/BitBucket and Jenkins. With an affinity for agile workflow, you also know what the Software Development Lifecycle entails as well as have a basic understanding of the Software Lifecycle Management Process. Lastly, you have previous experience in anchoring and implementing Release Management in a global organization and from working in global and distributed teams. As we’re a global organization, you need good written and verbal English skills, while other languages are a plus.
Your personality means a lot to us – you’re structured and have the ability to organize processes, teams and tasks with ease. Simultaneously, you’re an excellent and efficient communicator with clear multi-tasking abilities.
