Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.
About the role
Are coaching teams and teaching agile practices strengths of yours? Do you want to make sure our teams have the necessary knowledge needed to accomplish what they need to do? Great! This might be the job for you!
We are now extending two of our teams and therefore looking for two Release Train Engineers.
The main responsibility of the Release Train Engineer is to ensure that a value stream can effectively release high-quality solutions to customer needs as fast as possible while being flexible regarding changing technical requirements and customer preferences. The Release Train Engineer is responsible for facilitating team planning events and making sure that the teams continuously build quality into the solution and that the list of work packages is prioritised, transparent, and easy to understand. You will work closely with scrum masters, product owners, architects, and other stakeholders and have the opportunity to greatly impact our delivery!
Your specific tasks
• Coach the teams in creating definitions of done to continuously build quality in to the solutions (often via coaching the scrum master)
• Coach the product owners in how to describe work packages for ease of understanding, create customer centric descriptions, and sequencing (prioritization) methods (often by coaching the product manager)
• Drive continuous improvement via system demos, inspect and adapts, and lessons learnt (post-mortems)
• Work with the product manager and system architect to ensure that the roadmap, value creation team level backlog, and other artifacts are created and maintained in collaboration with the teams, solution management and other stakeholders
• Help the teams in estimation and planning of work, based on team capacity
• Help facilitate team level events, i.e. PI-planning, if needed as part of coaching the team
• Teach lean-agile practices (including technical practices) to the teams and coach them in applying these practices, to ensure scalable, testable, modularized solutions that can be continuously integrated in small batches
• Teach the teams to self-organize and to take end to end responsibility for their deliverables
Who are you?
We believe that you, as a person, have great coaching skills and know how to motivate and make people perform. Creating structure and planning are also two of your great skills, and at the same time, you have the ability to work in an agile way.
Furthermore, we believe you have a relevant academic education and previous experience in leadership or coaching. We also believe that you have been working or have experience in similar roles, for example as a Scrum master, line manager, project manager, or object leader. It’s meritorious if you have knowledge/experience from Scania or from a similar industry. If you have a Scaled Agilist certification that’s great!
What’s in it for you?
This is an opportunity where you will be a part of driving the shift to a more sustainable world. Digitalization is a part of this journey and it starts with you!
Except for working with great and competent colleagues, we will offer you a permanent employment from day one. No try-out period. We believe in recruiting the right people in the right way. And giving them the prerequisites they need to succeed.
We also have a flexible office policy. This, in practice, means that you can work from home, from our brand new office in Stockholm City, or from the headquarters in Södertälje. We meet at least once weekly at the office in Södertälje to work together and help each other out. Or just have a proper fika session!
Other than this, you get a number of big corporation goodies, like:
• Pension
• Insurances
• Wellness allowance
• Continuous learning
• Etc etc etc
We also want to mention Scania's values, summarized in something called the Scania Way. They are amazing - because they are also used. And we can probably talk your ears off about them when we meet, so beware!
Application and other information
Please apply as soon as possible but no later than 30/4. The selection might be held throughout the whole application period.
Kindly notice that a background check might be conducted for this position.
