The Role
As the release train leader, you will work closely with a team of dedicated hardware, software, and test engineers as well as cross-functions such as purchasing, suppliers, and production. You will oversee the entire product lifecycle and lead the team to ensure the successful delivery of the cutting-edge Scania-based Powertrain solution in our new Chinese market. It is expected to deeply participate in feature definition during the concept phase mainly for cost reduction, technical decisions during solution deployment, and monitoring the quality of the delivery with the right content at the right time.
With the wide coverage of the responsibilities comes great potential in this role. To be able to effectively glue together the competence of agile teams, the ideal profile of the release train leader is expected to be a T-shaped generalist with an understanding in system architecture, project management, and product management and with expertise within the powertrain domain.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
Lead and manage the EE Powertrain team, establishing feasible project millstones with concrete deliveries, and providing clear direction, guidance, and support throughout the product lifecycle.
Product Management
Keep together the product roadmap for engine and transmission management systems, aligning with business goals, market demands, and technological advancements, and aligning with Scania platform solution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with HW development, SW development, cable harness, testing, UIUX design, and regulatory teams to coordinate efforts and drive progress toward product milestones.
Stakeholder Communication
Communicate product status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring transparency and alignment with project objectives.
Your Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Proven experience in technical domains within the automotive Powertrain system, and familiarity with EMS and TMS Software development strongly preferred.
* In-depth knowledge of automotive electronics, software development methodologies, and system architecture design.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate team members towards common goals.
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion within defined timelines and budget constraints is a plus.
* Experience working with commercial vehicle OEMs is highly desirable.
