The Department of Thematic Studies was the first in Sweden to offer an academic setting for thematically organised, interdisciplinary, socially relevant research. We combine strong research with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and courses, often in collaboration with actors outside the university.

We are looking for a research assistant to the department of Thematic Studies – Environmental Change, 100% one year.
Your future work assignments
The work assignments include to provide qualified organizational and administrative support for major research programmes and activities. You will, among other things, work within the research programme Mistra Geopolitics (https://www.mistra-geopolitics.se/) and at the Center for Climate Policy Research (https://liu.se/en/research/cspr). Mistra Geopolitics brings together six Swedish research partners and 15 societal actors and the tasks will consist of independently planning, implementing and reporting activities within the research programme based on dialogue with the research leaders. The role you will have is often described as programme or project manager. In a similar role, you will assist the Center for Climate Science and Policy Research's management with qualified administrative support, for example with reporting and planning of events and activities. In addition to ongoing activities, you will also work with the research leaders to develop new proposals for research projects and programmes.
Your future workplace
You will work at the Division of Environmental Change. It conducts high-quality research and teaching on the interaction between environmental and social development in an analytically innovative way. The department conducts postgraduate education and basic education with an environmental science focus. It hosts an undergraduate and a master program, as well as offers individual and teacher training courses in environmental science, thematic science and geography. At Tema Environmental Change, the interdisciplinary Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research is studying transformation, climate vulnerability and adaptation, climate visualization and communication.
Your qualifications
We are looking for a person who is independent, responsible and used to working in teams and who holds a completed master's degree or has relevant work experience. Requirements for the employment are demonstrated skills in:
- independently administering, planning, reporting and coordinating research related activities or major projects,
- communicating freely in English, both in speech and writing.
In addition to the above, the following are meriting:
- previous work with project administration, project coordination or similar,
- participated in research projects or collaborated with researchers,
- good ability to use project / process management software,
- good ability regarding formatting and layout of documents and figures
