Do you have a passion for entrepreneurship, innovation and technology and want to communicate world-class research in these areas? The House of Innovation (HOI) at the Stockholm School of Economics is looking for a creative and independent Research and Communications Officer to join our team.

In this role, you’ll have the chance to amplify the impact of cutting-edge research on innovation, digitalization, and entrepreneurship by bringing it to a broad audience.




About the role 

As our Research and Communications Officer, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that our research reaches and resonates with diverse audiences, from academics and practitioners to national and international media. Your work will help position our researchers and their work at the forefront of important conversations. This role is central to our mission of ensuring that the knowledge we generate at the House of Innovation contributes to real-world change in businesses and society. 




Examples of work responsibilities 
Website and social media management: Manage HOI’s communication channels and the webpage; develop and implement social media strategies, create engaging content, and manage internal planning. This includes communicating major developments and making sure that our online presence reflects the exciting work happening here. You’ll take the lead in keeping our website content fresh and engaging. 
Internal communication: Prepare materials for meetings, support the Executive Director in drafting slides and communication, write internal newsletter, writing the Year in Review report, and other planning and reporting documents. 
Research communication: Take the lead in making complex research findings accessible and interesting to different audiences. This includes creating videos, writing interviews, and producing articles both in English and in Swedish that bring our work to life. 
Support research reporting: Support our researchers with research ethics applications, grants applications, and research reports (including budgets).
Media relations: Build and nurture relationships with national and international media outlets. You’ll be pitching stories and securing coverage that shines a spotlight on the innovative research coming out of the House of Innovation. 
Data management: Keep our publication database in top shape and produce data for presentations and reports, including our annual review, making sure our research is effectively showcased. 
Coordination with SSE’s central communication: Be the first point of contact to SSE’s central communication unit, and make sure that HOI communication is aligned and coherent with the School’s overall communication in terms of tonality, mission and style.




Your profile
Requirements
Has a strong interest in, knowledge of, and understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation and technology
Is accurate and detailed in both administrative and project management work
Can communicate about research with academics, students, practitioners and the media
Has excellent writing skills and can aptly summarize academic articles on a variety of topics
Is well-organized, proactive and can work independently as well as in teams
Has excellent spoken and written English and Swedish
Has a university degree in business administration, communication or other relevant subject
Experience with social media and editing webpages




Meritorious:
Experience from similar task or workplace
Familiarity with business and research concepts particularly in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and technology
Prior project management experience including organizing digital and physical events
Prior social media communication experience
Interest and capability to develop work practices and routines using up-to-date tools, including software apps, generative AI, etc. in ways that improve quality as well as productivity
A master’s degree in business administration, communication or other relevant subject
