We are now recruiting a Research and Development Manager for sterilizers within the business category unit Surgical Workflow, which is part of Getinge group. We develop products for the healthcare and Life Science sector aimed for the global market. Getinge Group is in an exciting and intensive period of change and you will be a key player when it comes to building and drive our R&D team in Getinge ensuring high technical leadership for our sterilizer projects. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference, contribute to building a strong R&D organization and to interface with a wide variety of key stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
The position
In this position you will be responsible for the development team located in Getinge. You will have the technical leadership for the mechanical and electrical development within sterilizer projects. You will also establish and implement technology roadmaps for the sterilization development and secure daily management at the Getinge site. You will interact with different stakeholders such as business development, manufacturing, suppliers, purchasing, project office, etc.
Your main responsibilities will be:
•Technical development of sterilizers (process, mechanics and electrical components)
•Integration of embedded control system in the device
•Interact with different stakeholders related to the development process
•Supplier cooperation
•People management
•Develop goals and objectives within the area of responsibility and drive results
•Build networks, externally as well as internally
•Active contribution in the Integration IC management team
The position is located in Getinge, Halmstad. Some travelling is required and estimated to around 10%. The position reports to the Director Integration Infection Control.
The ideal candidate
As ideal for the position you have the following key characteristics:
•Minimum 8 years of experience from product development whereof minimum 3 years as a team leader or manager
•Knowledge of R&D processes in global companies
•Academic degree in engineering (M.Sc or B.Sc)
•Fluent spoken and written English
•Experience from medical device development is beneficial
As a person you are a driven and communicative team-builder with strong leadership- and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to develop people and interact with all levels in the organization. You are analytical and have sense of urgency which means that you identify problems and secure that actions are implemented. Being solution-oriented and open to changes are also important competences in order to succeed in this role.
