Arbetsbeskrivning
EnginZyme is a forward-thinking Swedish startup, breaking new ground in sustainable and advanced production technologies. Recognised as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and buoyed by a €22M Series B funding, we're on a mission to lead the bio-industrial revolution.
We are looking for a driven research assistant to join our biocatalysis team to work on reaction and immobilised enzyme optimisation, and support our continued progress in catalysts development and testing. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, ideally with a focus on catalysis or biocatalysis. As a member of our team, you will be a part of a tight-knit and quick moving R&D group, where cross team collaboration is core to the development of our processes.
What you’ll do
Key tasks and responsibilities are:
Setup and analyse experiments within enzyme immobilisation, biocatalysis and reaction engineering to support research programs.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to gather data and help solve important challenges for the biocatalysis team.
Work with exceptional lab skills to ensure the lab can operate at full capacity by maintaining inventories, creating buffer stocks and ordering consumables.
Schedule and plan for maintenance and calibration of key equipment, deal with special waste disposal and help to document and update lab safety protocols.
What we can offer you
A unique opportunity to be part of an impactful journey, contributing to the advancement of a state-of-the-art technology.
Collaboration with world-class experts, working on cutting-edge problems.
Attractive compensation package with an equity component.
A tight-knit, highly diverse team fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and collaboration.
A startup environment with lots of responsibilities, opportunities for growth, and minimal red tape.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who is organised, meticulous and putting pride in performing tasks with precision. We think you probably have a Bachelors or MSc in chemistry/biochemistry (or a related field), although this is not a requirement. Working experience from a commercial lab as well as hands on experience and theoretical knowledge of catalysis are advantageous. Candidates that are truly outstanding with other backgrounds will also be considered.
In terms of personal qualities, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about their work, who gets things done, who wants to push boundaries. And, not least, who is also a friendly, cooperative person. If this describes you, you’ll fit in with the rest of the team!
The position is based in Stockholm and may include some travelling for development and training purposes.
