Research assistant for project in Somalia/East Africa

We are looking for Research Assistance (RA) for a 3-month project that will start in May. This is a project looking at cooperation opportunities with Somalia and East Africa. The primary role of the RA is to collect data through meetings and interviewing respondents. Most of the interviews will require field visits in Somalia and East Africa, we estimate 30-40% of the work is in the field and RA must be able and willing to travel in Somalia and East Africa.

We expect the RA to be able to independently conduct in-person interviews with selected respondents. These interviews will be conducted using paper questionnaires, depending on study requirements but later document electronically (MS Office).

We expect the RAs to have experience and understanding how to conduct and write an academic paper, report or thesis. The RA must show excellent English skills, written and spoken. We are seeking background or real experience in research, especially data collection, analysis and good interview skills.
To be eligible for this position you need to have a first degree or preferable second degree at the University. Suitable backgrounds are Agricultural, Social Science, Business Management or other relevant fields

This can be a perfect assignment for a PhD or University student that also like to travel to Africa during summer.

Most of this work can be done from home or will be done in the field. We will do follow up and team meetings in Stockholm.
