We are looking for a Research assistant to join the Innate Immune Regulation team.
The team studies how the activation of innate immune cells is controlled at the molecular level and is integrated in the Center for Infectious Medicine. We strive for multidisciplinary approaches to address research questions at the interface of molecular virus immunology and translational onco-immunology.
Your mission
As a member of the Innate Immune Regulation team, you will support the team in identifying signals that allow innate cytotoxic natural killer (NK) cells to recognize virus-infected cells. You will also contribute to investigating how NK cells discriminate between healthy cells and tumors.
You will work with a broad range of methodologies and advance the team’s scientific goals in a collaborative manner. You also will contribute to the scientific environment and work infrastructure of the team as well as the center.
Your tasks will include reporting of scientific results in oral and written form, participating in scientific meetings, and communicating effectively with your direct colleagues and broader scientific network.
Your profile
Requirements that the successful candidate should fulfill are a Master degree a in life sciences with a proven experience in a broad range of cell culture techniques (cancer cell lines as well as primary cells) and molecular biology (including DNA isolation as well as polymerase chain reaction). Previous experience in flow cytometry, ELISA, and genetic engineering is merited.
Excellent communication skills in English both spoken and written are a requirement. The ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment is also a requirement.
An ideal candidate is enthusiastic and highly motivated, able to work independently according to standardized procedures, and a team player who enjoys contributing to a common goal.
