Duties:
We are seeking a research assistant, who will work on a variety of routine lab tasks, including the processing and analysis of plant and soil samples. These samples are collected from forest-alpine ecotones around the world. Further, you will also be expected to be involved in fieldwork in northern Sweden (Abisko area). In the field, you will help out with carbon flux measurements, vegetation surveys, and the collection of plant and soil samples for further lab analyses.
The position is part of the European Research Council Consolidator Grant project THRESHOLD. This project uses novel cross-disciplinary approach to advance our fundamental knowledge of how non-linear temperature responses transcend different levels of ecological organization.
Qualifications:
We are seeking and enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate with an interest in global change ecology and with good communication skills. The applicant should have a strong work ethic and be able to work precisely, accurately, and structurally. Previous experience with lab work and field work is desirable. Proficiency in English (both spoken and written) is required.
