The Rydén and Mejhert lab aims to understand how alterations in human white adipocyte function is related to cardiometabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, and coronary sclerosis.
Our group consists of 15-20 members (senior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, PhD/master students, and technical staff) and has all the necessary infrastructure to conduct translational research including a fully equipped preclinical laboratory at NEO and a clinical research unit at the Karolinska University Hospital, Huddinge.
Your mission
We are recruiting a research assistant to work on a systems biology project where we aim to define the organellar proteomes of human adipocytes in health and disease. The project is ongoing, but important tasks such as data generation, integration and validation in cell models remain to be completed. The position is for six months but may be extended with an additional six months pending the completion of the project.
Your profile
The person appointed should have a master’s degree in the field of biology/medicine with a strong bioinformatic background and experience in common approaches such as FACS and confocal microscopy. It is a clear strength if the applicant has experience in analyzing transcriptional data. Good knowledge in English, written and spoken, is a requirement
