The School of Science and Technology at Örebro University is seeking a research assistant (forskningssekreterare) for a fixed-term, 6-month appointment.
Background
The researcher is to be based at Örebro University's Center for Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems (AASS, http://www.oru.se/aass), which carries out multi-disciplinary research at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, computer science, and measurement technology. Our research our research on the development of perception and planning systems for mobile robots is recognized world-wide. Much of our research work stems from close partnerships with world-leading corporations such as Volvo, Epiroc, Scania, Husqvarna and Bosch, as well as with the public sector.
Duties and responsibilities
We seek a research assistant to help in the development of the AI on-demand platform within the EU H2020 project AI4EU. The work will consist in web development of AI services and AI contents for the AI4EU platform, and it will be done in collaboration with many other institutions within the AI4EU project. In order to perform these tasks, the applicant is expected to have deep knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and agent systems. The applicant should also have experience in web development, coupled with excellent programing skills. Finally, it is essential that the applicant is able to work productively in international teams. Previous experience in working within EU projects is a plus.
The research assistant shall spend their working hours on research. The appointment may also include teaching, when there is a need within the organisation, to facilitate the research assistant to acquire qualifications for a teaching appointment at the University. The share of teaching may not exceed a 20 per cent of a full-time post.
Eligibility
Eligible for the appointment as research assistant are applicants holding a Master’s degree in Computer Science or in related subject areas.
Assessment criteria
The assessment of the candidates is based on previous research and publication records and the suitability to the topics outlined above, as well as demonstrated programming and deployment skills.
Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, is a requirement.

The position is a position for a fixed term of 6 months. The salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
