is creating a new position as

Research Associate in Multimodal Visualization with Focus on Applications in Life Sciences

within the Department of Technology and Natural Sciences (ITN)

Duties: The main focus of this position is research in the specified area on an individual and collaborative basis. Depending on the profile of the successful appointee, limited teaching and administrative duties can be included.

The aims of creating this new position are to further strengthen the skills in visualization within ITN and to carry out basic research in the area of visualization. The focus of the position is on technical research in multimodal interaction and visualization.

The research questions will be derived from a wide range of application areas with a starting point in medicine and biology, but also include applications in other areas. Research areas of special interest are visualization of and interaction with real time simulations, and simulations of deformations and topological changes of data for example in haptic feedback in patient specific surgery simulation.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree (or equivalent experience) and teaching skills are required for the position. Proven research ability is the most important criterion in the selection of candidates for this position.

The successful candidate will have skills and experience including:
1. Scientific qualifications in scientific visualization shown through publications in internationally recognised conferences and journals.
2. Deep knowledge and practical experience of multimodal visualization and haptics.
3. General experience of application areas such as medicine, biology and engineering sciences.
4. General knowledge and skills in programming for computer graphics and VR.

Appointment time: The appointment will last for two years. The appointment can be renewed without further announcement. The employment will however not last more than four years.
