Do you want to make a practical contribution to sustainability? This new Research Associate position is about trying to equip companies with the decision tools they need to make informed changes for the better. If you are interested in green chemistry, enjoy working in research and like talking with industry, this could be for you.

Information about the division and the project
The successful candidate will work Chalmers' Division of Environmental Systems Analysis in a multidisciplinary team created by a Formas-funded research project. It brings together academics working on sustainable chemistry at Chalmers, sociologists and ecotoxicologists at IVL and environmental experts at some large international companies based in Gothenburg. The aim is to improve the tools available to help companies make decisions about substitution of chemicals in practice.

Job description
The role involves dialogue with researchers and industry representatives, critical literature review, performing case studies on certain chemical products using existing tools, synthesizing ideas about how better tools could work in the future, and presenting results verbally and in writing.

Qualifications
The position will start after summer holidays. By then, the applicant should expect to have completed a masters degree in chemistry, environmental chemistry or chemical engineering or equivalent. Additionally, demonstrably strong communication skills in spoken and written English are needed. Additional education or experience with environmental sustainability assessment or life cycle assessment is meritorious, as are demonstrable teamworking abilities and strong communication skills in Swedish.
