Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
The psychiatric epidemiology group at the Dept of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics is focused on studying causes and consequences of neurodevelopmental disorders across the lifespan.
These disorders are investigated in large-scale registry databases using genetic epidemiological techniques such as twin- and family design. We are currently looking for a research coordinator with knowledge of these methods to work on a project investigating long-term outcomes associated with neurodevelopment disorders across the lifespan.
Your mission
The role will involve managing and planning a very large scale, collaborative project using register-based linkages. The research coordinator will be responsible for coordinating researchers working on this project, advising on analytic strategies, and performing advanced data linkages. The research coordinator will extract and manage registry dataset for genetic epidemiological analyses. The research coordinator will also be responsible for disseminating the results to the scientific peers and the general public. Supervising medical and doctoral students, as well as teaching on the medical program at KI, will be encouraged.
Your profile
We are seeking an applicant with a PhD in epidemiology and at least 2 years’ experience in performing register-based genetic epidemiological studies. It is required that they have previous experience in a wide range of epidemiological techniques using health data and life course modelling in SAS, STATA or R. The ability to extract and manage large-scale registry datasets is important. Teaching experience is meriting but not required.
The applicant should be collegial, experienced in working in “team science” contexts, possess exceptional communication and organisational skills, know how to successfully multitask, and should be able to describe past examples of having developed structured approaches to solving unanticipated and complex problems. Experience with publishing research articles and very good knowledge of English and Swedish, both oral and written, is a requirement since the group is part of an international research environment.
