Research Engineer

Role Summary/Purpose:

We are looking for a Research Engineer within the area of Process Development. The role is with the Particle Design section of the BioProcess Media department, BioProcess R&D.

Essential Responsibilities:

The role is with the Particle Design section of the BioProcess Media department, BioProcess R&D. The section?s main activities are focused on the design of structured particles for chromatographic separation of biomolecules. This includes chemical design as well as process engineering design. The responsibility of process development is split between R&D and Manufacturing where R&D?s responsibility mainly is focused on evaluating new techniques. Your role includes scouting for and evaluating new techniques, managing internal projects/activities and having a close collaboration with manufacturing.

More specifically will your tasks include:

Scout for and evaluate new production methods for particle formation
Scout for and evaluate process analysis methods
Work with simulations of processes
Contribute in trouble-shooting activities
Transfer of new techniques to manufacturing
To plan, execute and document project work to reach given objectives

Qualifications/Requirements:

MSc in Chemical Engineering or related fields
Experience of industrial development work
English and Swedish as working languages
EU work permit

Desired Characteristics:

Experience from laboratory work, pilot scale work as well as large scale work
Experience from techniques for particle synthesis methods, e.g. emulsification processes
Delivery focus
Good trouble shooting ability
Good interpersonal skills
